Blackened Rye The Lightning is a blend of straight rye whiskies hand-picked by Rob Dietrich. The whiskies are combined and aged for 2-14 weeks in Madeira wine and Caribbean rum casks, where they undergo BLACKENED's proprietary BLACK NOISE™ sound enhancement process. The sound waves of the so-called Black Noise come from music boxes from Meyer Sound. This allows the liquid to penetrate deeper into the barrel staves. A very creative, new approach to maturation. Meyer Sound has already worked with international music greats such as Metallica to provide both the band and the audience with the best possible sound experience. The name Rye The Lightning is inspired by the Metallica album Ride the Lightning, which is due to the close collaboration between Sweet Amber Distilling Co. and the American metal band.
