The third edition of Hampden Pagos matured entirely in Jamaica in 500-litre sherry casks from Bodegas Fundador. A total of 16 ex-sherry casks were used. These were previously filled with Oloroso for up to 30 years and were stored using the solera method. The principle of solera maturation is familiar from sherry, brandy and wine production. For this, several rows of oak barrels of different ages are stacked on top of each other and the respective liquid is only extracted from the oldest row (which is at the bottom). In order to promote the ideal harmony between the sherry and the high ester content of the Hampden Estate distillate, the Pagos was bottled with an alcohol content of an intense 52% vol.

The Hampden Estate Rum Distillery has a long tradition dating back to 1753, when the estate in Trelawny, Jamaica, was established as a sugar cane plantation. Here, Hampden Estate Rum's signature high ester Rum is produced in the heavy pot still style, a method typical of Jamaica that gives the Rum its intense, fruity flavour.
