Aroma Delicate but rich, honey-sweet, with all the richness of cane sugar. Ripe dates, vanilla and chocolate, very rosy.
Proef Creamy, light and honeyed with notes of shortbread. Hints of ripe fruits, sultanas, dates, dried plums as well as vanilla notes and cola. Nuts and subtle orange notes follow.
Uitgang Sweet and warm, the wine and raisin notes of the sherry casks are particularly prominent, along with a hint of sweet liquorice.

For the 20th anniversary of Rum Nation, some of the best and sweetest barrels of the precious rum from Guatemala were handpicked by the rum producer. The Guatemala Rum XO is made from sugar cane molasses and distilled in a column still. It matures for at least 4 years in former white oak bourbon barrels in the tropical climate of the Hondo River region. Post-ageing in Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez barrels for 16 months at Rum Nation's cooler location enhances the wine notes and fruity hints of the rum as well as its natural sweetness.

    Kommentar: Durch Nachreifung in Oloroso- und PX Fässern erhielt der Rum sehr schöne ausgeprägte Honig- und Nuss-Aromen - sehr schöne Abfüllung eines Guatemala-Rums!

    Aroma: Zart, aber reichhaltig, honigsüß, mit der ganzen Fülle von Rohrzucker. Reife Datteln, Vanille, Schokolade, sehr rosig.

    Geschmack: Cremig, leicht und honigsüß mit Noten von Buttergebäck. Dazu Anklänge von reifen Früchten, Rosinen, Datteln, getrocknete Pflaumen sowie Vanillenoten und Cola. Nüsse und subtile Orangennoten folgen nach.

    Abgang: Süß und warm, die Wein- und Rosininennoten der Sherryfässer treten besonders deutlich hervor, dazu ein Hauch von süßem Lakritz.
