The Leith Export Company is the bottling brand of the Port of Leith Distillery in Edinburgh, Scotland. The company selects Scotch whisky from Scottish distilleries and undertakes maturation, blending and bottling in the traditional whisky trading district of Leith. The Table Single Grain Scotch Whisky is a whisky made from grain distillate and matured in a combination of new oak casks and sherry casks. This bottling is part of the Sommelier's Selection, which means that it has been carefully selected to offer a particularly high-quality, balanced and accessible flavour experience. The concept is based on the European tradition of "table wine", i.e. wines that are uncomplicated, accessible and intended for everyday enjoyment. This idea is transferred to whisky by creating an accessible and versatile whisky. Even the bottle looks more like a wine bottle at first glance.

De Distilleerderij: Port of Leith
Die Port of Leith Distillery wurde im Oktober 2023 im historischen Hafenviertel Leith in Edinburgh eröffnet. Als erste vertikal angeordnete Whisky-Brennerei Schottlands vereint sie modernes Design mit innovativer Produktionslogik auf mehreren Ebenen. Die Destillation des ersten eigenen Scotch Whiskys begann Anfang 2024.
Die zur Muckle Brig gehörende Brennerei steht für einen zukunftsorientierten Ansatz in der schottischen Whiskywelt. Mit ihrer markanten Architektur und der Lage direkt am Hafen von Leith zählt sie zu den spannendsten neuen Whisky-Destinationen Schottlands.

Geschmack: Sanft und zugänglich, süße Getreidenoten, Vanille, milde Gewürze, feiner Sherry-Einfluss.
Abgang: Mittellang, warm und weich, nachklingend mit Karamell und leichter Würze.
Geschmack: süß, Getreidenoten; Hält man ihn im Mund, beginnt er auf der Zunge zu pritzeln - ich nehme das als jugendliche Aggressivität.
Abgang:
Kommentar: Der überzeugt mich nicht. Nase sehr dünn, im Mund zu jung.
Da bietet Schottland zu dem Preis jede Menge Besseres.
