The Connoisseurs Choice series from the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail has been in existence since the 1960s, and part of the series is characterised by single cask bottlings at cask strength. This Clynelish Single Malt from 2009 spent 15 years in a refill sherry hogshead and was bottled for the German market in a strictly limited quantity at 57.7% vol.

The Distillery: Clynelish
The new Clynelish Distillery on the east coast of Scotland was only established in 1967. It is located on the same premises as the original "Old Clynelish Distillery", which in turn had been mothballed and was reopened for a short period of time under the name of "Brora".
