The Monsters of Smoke are three popular standard bottlings from the Islay distillery Ardbeg. As the name suggests, there will be a lot of smoke at our live tasting! An Oa (an:oh) is named after the small peninsula The Oa on the Isle of Islay, where only about 40 people live. Due to its partial maturation in PX sherry casks, the malt is sweeter and spicier than its brother TEN. The smoky notes, on the other hand, are distinct and full-bodied. Only half as old and therefore twice as smoky and intense is Wee Beastie, which is named after the small, biting monsters that roam the moors of Islay.

The Distillery: Ardbeg

The Ardbeg distillery was officially founded in 1815 by John McDougall. But Whisky was distilled long before that. There are no documentations, as Ardbeg was an illegal business back in 1794. read more

Geschmack: ähnlich, wie im Aroma

Abgang: lang, intensiv angenehm

Kommentar: Tolle rauchige Whiskys. Der Wee Beastie und der An Oa sind richtig toll. Erster jung ungestüm, aber auch irgendwie mild und süß. Der An Oa voller mit mehr Tiefe und einem schön anhaltenden Abgang.
