Aroma Smoky notes meet grilled artichoke hearts and salty flavours with renewed accents of peat smoke.
Taste Full-bodied and complex with hints of spicy oak and smoked cranberries. This is followed by facets of dark chocolate and traces of smoke. In addition, fine notes of menthol and grilled bacon.
Finish Long-lasting and smoky with liquorice notes, plus aromas of dark chocolate and spicy malt.

Product description
The second bottling in the new Ardbeg Smoketrails series is the Côte Rotie Edition. The special thing about this release is the combination of two differently matured single malts. One part matured in fresh American white oak casks, while another part matured in Côte Rotie wine casks. This special vatting is bottled uncoloured and unfiltered at 46.0% vol. in a 1-litre bottle.

Aroma: Die ikonische Ardbeg-Note (medizinisch, torfig, Zitrone/Orange) mit fruchtigen Anklängen von süßem Malz, gärenden Weintrauben, Salzigkeit und andere Meeresaromen zu spüren. insgesamt nicht so stark rauchig wie der 10-Jährige!

Geschmack: Intensiv, torfig und umamireich: Pfeffer (weiß und rot), Grillfleisch, Marshmellows (ins Feuer reingefallen), Zitrone, Orange und viel Rauch.

Abgang: Lang. Viele Raucharomen tanzen auf der Zunge und im Gaumen: Malz, BBQ-Soße, gegrillte Früchte (z. B. Datteln), Salz und Pfeffer sind natürlich auch wieder vertreten.

Kommentar: Nicht so genial wie der 10-Jährige, aber dafür doch ein recht ordentliches Geschmackserlebniss! Die 1L-Flasche machts sich gut in jeder Bar oder Vitrine. Schöne Sache die Smoketrail-Reihe! Wenn sie dann leider doch nicht wahrscheinlich so alt sind!
