Product description
Master blender Rachel Barrie used four different types of casks for the 21-year-old Benriach. Besides strong bourbon and fresh oak casks, sherry and wine casks were also blended together. The design of the bottle and the tube are based on the original Benriach from the time before its closure in the 90s.

    Kommentar: ich bin immer etwas skeptisch, wenn zu viele verschiedende Fasstypen verwendet werden. Aber hier ist das Ergebnis durchaus gelungen. Man kann tatsächlich an verschiedenen Stellen den Einfluss der einzelnen Fässer erahnen. Dominant erscheinen mir aber die Rotweinfässer zu sein, was ein Segen ist. Ob es Virgin Oak unbedingt gebracht hätte? Das liefert sicher etwas Würze, aber es kommt leider auch etwas unnötig aufdringlich daher. Trotz dieser kleinen Schwachstelle ein guter und komplexer Benriach, der nach heutigen Maßstäben sogar vergleichweise fair bepreist ist.
