Product description
The Colombian producer of gin, cigars and coffee is best known for its rum. Dictador was founded in Cartagena on the northern coast of Colombia in 1913. Great importance is attached to careful production and well-guarded recipes, which are continued today by the third generation of the Parra family. This 12-year-old Dictador rum is produced from the fermentation of pure sugar cane honey, which is distilled partly in copper pot stills and partly in a continuous steel column still. The South American rum is matured in ex-bourbon barrels made from American oak and then finished in sherry barrels. The bottling was given a new closure but remains the same in terms of design and flavour.

Aroma: Weichkaramell, Honig, Trockensamen, leicht gerösteter Kaffee, dezente Aromen von Eiche.

Geschmack: Erneute Karamellnoten mit Kakao und Honig, dazu leichte Akzente von Sherry und etwas Kaffee.

Abgang: Anhaltend und komplex mit subtilen Anklängen von Eiche.

Sehr komplex und interessant. Wer den 20er mag, kommt hier etwas abgeschwächt auch auf seine Kosten. Leckeres Teil.

Toller Rum, super Toffeenoten, sehr weich und zugänglich, damit kriegt man Leute hooked für das Rum-Game. Bevorzuge allerdings den 20jährigen von Dictador, der ist den Aufpreis allemal wert und rundet die ganze Geschichte noch mehr ab, die 12jährige Version ist trotzdem total in Ordnung und hat definitiv ein top PLV.

Geschmack: Caramel Chocolate Pepper

Abgang: Pfeffer, angenehme Süße und Schärfe, sehr ausgewogen

Kommentar: Ein toller Rum, leichter Tabakgeschmack nicht rauchig, viele Aromen, kräftig, aromatisch und dickflüssig. Lang anhaltende, süße und leicht scharfe Aromen.
