This bottling is composed of 98% Blend, which was aged between 9 and 12 years in American white oak. The remaining 2% consists of rum that has been matured in the solera process for up to 50 years. The Don Q brand is a homage to the famous novel character Don Quixote and is produced in the Puerto Rican Distilleria Serrales. In order to maintain a very high quality standard, the molasses is pasteurised before distillation. This prevents the distillate from being contaminated by bacteria or wild yeasts. All Types of Don Q are distilled, matured and bottled on site.
