Don Q Rum Double Cask Finish Port

This rum also belongs to the Double Aged series of the Puerto Rican Serrallés distillery and is made from different molasses rums distilled on column stills. For the special type of maturation, ex-Bourbon barrels made of American white oak were first used and after the barrels were blended, the rum was refined for about three years in special oak barrels that were previously filled with Tawny Port. The Don Q brand - in homage to the well-known novel character Don Quixote - is produced at the Puerto Rican Distilleria Serrales. In order to maintain a very high quality standard, the molasses is pasteurised before distillation. This prevents the distillate from being contaminated by bacteria or wild yeasts. All Types of Don Q are distilled, matured and bottled on site.
