Product description

Glenfarclas 105 is an important cornerstone in the distillery's range. In 1968, George S. Grant came up with the idea of bottling the whisky undiluted from the cask as a Christmas present for employees and friends. An ingenious innovation, as most whiskies at the time were blended and marketed at drinking strength. The special edition to commemorate this idea was bottled for the first time in the history of the distillery with an age statement of 16 years. 105 proof corresponds to 60% natural cask strength by volume, from which the bottling takes its name.

The Distillery: Glenfarclas

The Glenfarclas distillery was founded in 1836 by Robert Hay and is one of the best-known and most successful family-run distilleries in Scotland. The owner family Grant is proud of its private status, which is reflected in the distillery's slogan ‘The Spirit of Independence’. Since 1865, the fifth generation of the Grant family has been shaping the history of the Glenfarclas distillery. This long family tradition guarantees consistent quality and the necessary foresight for a long-lasting product such as Whisky. Geschmack: dunkle Früchte mit stark würzigem Weinachtskuchen

Abgang: lang anhaltend wärmend mit Lakritz

Kommentar: teuer ja aber wen Ihr ihn probiert und auf circa 50 runter verdünnt bereut man den Preis nicht! Für mich sogar zum ersten Mal ein Konkurent mit dem Parliament 21....

Kommentar: zu den Festtagen nach langer Überlegung gekauft. Wg dem Preis. Nicht bereut, da er sehr gelungen ist. Spitze. Mit 2 weiteren Personen verkostet. Ein Mitverkoster(erfahren) war sehr begeistert. Ist auch "fan" vom Standard 105. Ich finde ihn ausgewogen und gut abgestimmt mit einer wundervollen Eiche, Holzaroma i V. Mit dem Sherry Würze mit dem leicht trockenen Ausklang.
Für die Sterngucker 5.....ein Wölkchen wegen dem Preis. -;)
