The 11-year-old Glenrothes is a composition of malt whiskies bottled from 21 hogsheads and four sherry hogsheads. These differently matured casks made the Single Malt very complex. The sherry notes and fruitiness of the four first fill finish hogsheads and the vanilla-caramel notes of the other casks harmonise perfectly with the earthy distillery character of Glenrothes. This Single Malt Whisky is part of Signatory Vintage's Un-Chillfiltered range, in which the whiskies are not chill-filtered. The exclusive Whisky.de Single Malt was the Whisky.de club bottle in 2022/23 and is now being released as a special World Cup Edition for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will take place from 11 June 2026 in the three nations of Canada, Mexico and the USA. It is the first football World Cup to be organised jointly by three nations. This outstanding whisky is therefore ideal for enjoying on a football evening with friends and also for collecting.

The Distillery: Glenrothes

Die Brennerei Glenrothes liegt in Rothes im Herzen der Speyside. Sie kann auf eine turbulente Geschichte zurückblicken. Zum ersten Mal wurde bei Glenrothes am 28. Dezember 1879 gebrannt. Das könnte ein schlechtes Omen gewesen sein, denn am selben Tag stürzte die Tay Bridge in Dundee ein. Glenrothes wurde von einigen Feuern heimgesucht und brannte einmal auch ganz ab, doch die Brennerei stieg sprichwörtlich wie der Phönix aus der Asche wieder empor und ist heute wieder dick im Whiskygeschäft. read more
