Ziemlich gut, ABER. Zum pur genießen eine wirklich schöne Flasche. Allerdings ist der Rye von Jack Daniels etwas...unausgeglichen. Beim trinken bekommt man zunächst das pure Jack Daniels Single Barrel select feeling. Sanft, mild, Karaml Süße und dann kommt in Abgang plötzlich eine würzige Roggennote vorbei. Man kann es schwer beschreiben, aber die Roggennote passt nicht so ganz rein und kommt erst am Ende rein, als würde sie kurz vorbeischauen und mit den anderen Noten nicht in Einklang stehen. Es bleibt trotzdem eine gute Flasche zum pur trinken. Daher 4/5.

Aroma: Erster Eindruck Süß-Vanille, mit leichten Fruchtnoten, dann aber kommt eine deutliche Würzigkeit mit Eichennoten und Gewürzen mit Pfeffer, Muskat und Ingwer
Geschmack: Kräftiger Antritt, hier überwiegen sofort die Würznoten mit Pfeffer, Muskat und Ingwer sowie Eichennoten, im Hintergrund die Vanille-Süße

Ich habe kürzlich Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Rye ausprobiert und war begeistert. Der Duft ist einfach fantastisch, mit reifen Früchten und einer angenehmen Würze. Beim ersten Schluck war ich von der Balance aus würzigen Roggennoten, süßem Honig und Karamell beeindruckt, und die Vanille gab dem Ganzen eine schöne Tiefe. Der Abgang ist lang und wärmend, mit einem leichten Hauch von Rauch. Insgesamt ein großartiger Whisky, der sowohl für Kenner als auch Neulinge eine Freude ist.
