Kavalan Podium was created for the fourth anniversary of the Taiwanese distillery. The subtropical climate in Taiwan promotes a faster maturation of the whisky. This requires permanent control of the casks. Since the Angel's Share is 15-18% per year, long storage periods are almost impossible.

Aroma: süß, fruchtig, etwas exotisches (reife Bananen), Vanille
Geschmack: Karamell-Süße und ein regelrechter Fruchtcocktail, der Alkohol sehr gut eingebunden, dann mehr Würzigkeit ohne bitter zu werden.
Abgang: die Süße weicht schnell der dominanter werdenden Eiche, ohne aber völlig bitter zu sein. Es bleibt ein mittellanger Abgang mit Frucht und Vanille.
Kommentar: Im Rahmen eines privaten Tastings genossen. Kam sehr gut an - das exotische Etwas macht ihn sehr interessant. Sehr süffig und ein gutes P/L-Verhältnis.
