Aroma Notes of plums, marzipan and orange-flavoured chocolate open this wine.
Taste Lively and complex on the palate, with notes of maraschino cherry syrup, liquorice, dates and star anise. Gentle peat smoke emerges, along with a hint of sweet cinnamon toast.
Finish The finish is as salty as the sea, with notes of hazelnuts, mint and sour cherries.

Product description
The name Kilkerran comes from Gaelic and is derived from 'Ceann Loch Cilli Chiarain'. This was the name of the first settlement on the site where the town of Campbeltown now stands. The malt is produced in the Mitchell's Glengyle distillery. The distillery was closed for over 80 long years, but was renovated and reopened by Springbank. The first distillate flowed on 25 March 2004 and this year's 16-year-old was aged 60% in Bourbon and 40% in sherry casks and bottled without chill-filtering or colouring.

Kommentar: Nase relativ schwach. Zitrus, etwas Sherry und gelbe Früchte sowie leichter Rauch. Geschmacklich dann deutlich mehr ... Man merkt die verschiedenen Fassreifungen, milde Rauchigkeit und schöne Vanille. Abgang relativ kurz. Alles harmonisch abgestimmt. Beim ersten Mal probieren war ich ehrlich gesagt unterwältigt. Habe ihn danach länger an der Luft stehen lassen und ihn noch mehrmals probiert. Jetzt finde ich ihn super, aber er braucht Zeit und Sauerstoff. Ruhig länger stehen lassen ... Dann macht er echt Spass
