The Lochlea Smoke without Fire whisky has been matured in ex-peated refill Bourbon barrels and red wine casks and was inspired by the Ploughing Edition from the independent farm distillery's Seasonal Releases. 100% own barley, excellent cask selection and the absence of artificial colouring and chill filtering made the Single Malt Whisky from Lochlea's standard range a balanced Lowlands whisky with facets of red fruits garnished with nuances of campfire smoke and floral sweetness.

The Distillery: Lochlea

The Lochlea distillery in the Scottish Lowlands has been producing Single Malt Whisky since 2018. The team grows their own grain for the Lochlea products on the approximately 90 hectares. They are particularly proud of the estate's history, which the Scottish national poet Robert Burns called home from 1777 to 1784 and also lent a hand on the farm.
