Lagavulin's classic is kilned with a high smoke content in the malt. The stills of the distillery are pear-shaped so that all flavours can be passed on to the condensers during distillation. The Single Malt is then matured in Bourbon and Sherry casks until perfection.

Kommentar: solider Islay Raucher, auch wenn ich den Hype um diesen Malt noch nie so richtig nachvollziehen konnte. Preislich nicht mehr ganz so happig wie noch vor einiger Zeit, aber immer noch reichlich teuer für das, was man hier bekommt. Und leider halt die bei mir nie so beliebten Diageo Charakteristika (Farbstoff, Kühlfiltrierung, vergleichsweise geringer Alkoholgehalt).
