With this 10-year-old Laphroaig bottling, James Eadie presents a classic Islay Single Malt at a natural cask strength of 52.3% vol. The traditional Laphroaig distillery is known worldwide for its unmistakable peat smoke, maritime influences and medicinal notes. The maturation took place in refill barrels, which means that the influence of the wood remains deliberately restrained and the characteristic distillery flavours are in the foreground. The nose reveals intense notes of smoke and peat, accompanied by sea air, iodine, lemon peel and a subtle sweetness. On the palate, campfire smoke, vanilla, pepper and salty accents combine to create a typical Islay experience. The Distilleries of Great Britain & Ireland series by James Eadie is dedicated to selected distilleries from Scotland and Ireland and emphasises their individual house styles through targeted cask selection.
