Product description
The 12-year-old Sherry Oak was for a long time an integral part of the Macallan range. In recent years, it has only been available in a few markets. In 2018, it was relaunched as part of the new 'Trilogy Series'. The Sherry Oak, Double Cask and Triple Cask malts highlight the different sherry influences on the whiskies.
This bottling was matured entirely in sherry casks. Macallan works closely with the Spanish producers. Before the seasoned casks arrive in Scotland, they are stored for 18 months in their country of origin, Spain.

    Kommentar: Viele Fassetten vom Öffnen bis zum Genuss. Beim Öffnen der Flasche kommt einem sehr viel Eiche entgegen. Das relativiert sich im Glas etwas. Viel Süße und die Eiche bleibt erhalten. Lässt man den Whisky im Glas atmen, verändert sich das Aroma nochmals. Sehr interessant. Die 40% bringen in den Geschmack Weichheit rein. Langer, weicher, süßer Abgang.

    Kommentar: Überrascht, dass dieser Macallen mit 40% so überzeugt. Super Sherry Abfüllung. Ist perfekt abgestimmt. Eine der besten Sherry Abfüllungen vorallem mit diesem Alter. Sehr gute tiefe , wirkt älter als er ist. Perfekte Symphonie , der hat einfach alles. Klare 5 Sterne auch wenn er etwas teuer ist.

    Schöner komplexer Whisky mit diesem typischen Macallen Brennereicharakter aber deutlich besser als der Standart 12 J von Macallan. Werde ihn mir trotz des Preises erneut zulegen.
