Product description

Product description
Martell Cordon Bleu is a Cognac from France and comes from Martell, one of the oldest Cognac producers in the region, founded in 1715. Production takes place in the Cognac region in accordance with the usual legal requirements for the production of Cognac. For Martell Cordon Bleu, mainly eaux-de-vie from the Borderies region are used, supplemented by distillates from other crus. After fermentation, the wines are distilled twice in traditional copper stills to produce clear and fruity eaux-de-vie. Maturation takes place in French oak barrels, in which the eaux-de-vie are stored for many years. Martell Cordon Bleu has no official age statement, but consists of a high proportion of very long matured eaux-de-vie. The Martell 'Cordon Bleu' was developed in 1912 by Edouard Martell and goes back to a trophy from an Atlantic crossing that inspired a ship's cook to create a famous dish called "Cordon Bleu". This cognac is said to have a flavour reminiscent of this dish.
