Mezan Belize Rum 10 Years 2008/2021

For the Belize Rum, from the independent bottler Mezan, the molasses is obtained from locally crushed sugar cane. It is fermented naturally and then distilled in a triple column continuous still. This vintage was first matured for 6 years in the tropical climate of Belize in heavily burnt American bourbon barrels before being transferred to white oak bourbon barrels that were previously filled with other Caribbean rums and matured for 4 years in the European climate. The Mezan company stands for authentic and special rums from individual distilleries, some of which are legendary or no longer in operation. This single distillery rum from a distillery in Belmopan, the capital of Belize, comes from the barrel into the bottle without the addition of colourings and sweeteners, as well as without chill filtration.
