The Middelton Very Rare 2025 is a milestone in the history of distilling. Master distiller Kevin O'Gorman and his team set new standards for this bottling to mark the 200th anniversary of the Irish Midelton distillery. For the first time in the history of the collection, six different distillate styles have been combined - a tribute to the generations of master distillers who have shaped Midelton's tradition from the ground up. As always, the whiskies come from the historic A2 warehouse, where only the best casks have been matured since the 1860s. Uniquely, O'Gorman personally selected not just one, but three styles of Grain whisky. These include a 22-year-old batch made from a mash of barley and malted barley and a rare 21-year-old grain whiskey. Both matured for a long time in refilled American whiskey barrels, allowing the luscious sweetness and caramel notes of the distillates to come into their own. The Grain character is complemented by a significantly increased proportion of Pot Still whiskey, which ensures remarkable depth and complexity.
