The Distillery: Stauning

The Stauning Whisky Distillery was founded in 2005 by nine friends in a former butcher's shop on the windswept west coast of Jutland. What began as a shared hobby has developed into one of Scandinavia's best-known Whisky distilleries. Surrounded by fields, moors and heathland, Stauning uses only Danish grain and consistently adheres to the principle of ‘from grain to glass’. Traditional malting floors, 24 direct-fired copper stills and peat and heather smoke give this Danish Whisky its distinctive character. read more
