A straight bourbon from Jim Beam that couldn't be more typical. The Old Grand Dad was a master distiller named Basil Hayden, who became famous for producing a Bourbon whiskey with a higher rye content. This method of production was passed down through generations until the grandson simply called his famous whiskey Old Grand Dad.

Aroma: Ein toller Duft: Karamell und Vanille mit Nougat, Pfeffer, Lakritze, Honig, Maissüße, Fruchtgummi, usw.
Geschmack: Rassig und würzig: Vanille/Karamell mit einer tollen Würze, die an dunkles Roggenbrot mit Früchten drin erinnert.
Abgang: Mittel. Eine Fusion aus Karamell/Vanille mit Roggenwürze, Mais und flüssigem Fruchtgummi.
Kommentar: Ein spannender Bourbon mit viel Geschichte und Charakter! Die Preis/Leistung ist exzellent! Die 1 L-Flasche macht was her! Nur der Abgang stört mich einfach. Irgendwie stellt er mich nicht zufrieden. Da er zwar eine tolle Würze hinterlässt, sie aber flott verliegt! Nur mit Mühe habe ich mich durchringen können ein "Mittel" hinzuschreiben. Vielleicht fehlt dem Boubon dan doch ein bis zwei Jahre im Fass noch! Oder ich hätte mir die Flasche mit 43 % holen sollen!
