Stroma is the successor to the classic Old Pulteney whisky liqueur. This time it was bottled at a higher alcohol strength. Stroma is the Old Norse term for 'island in the stream', referring to the dangerous currents in the area. In addition to different whiskies from the distillery, honey, various carefully selected herbs and spices are used for its production.

The Distillery: Pulteney
For a long time Pulteney could be called the most northern distillery on the Scottish mainland. When Wolfburn Distillery in Thurso opened in 2013 they took over this title, but Pulteney hasn’t lost its attraction on Whisky lovers. The coastal style of the Old Pulteney Whisky (as the Whiskies from Pulteney are called) is a very unique one and the releases use to be very well judged by the Whisky experts.

Kommentar: Habe die Flasche für meine Partnerin gekauft, da ihr purer Whisky zu stark ist. In der Nase ist der Likör süßlich, mit Honig und Kräutern. Den Sherry und die Whiskynote habe ich nur ganz leicht. Im Mund ist er sehr süß, mit Honig, leichten Früchten und etwas Würze. Im Abgang ebenfalls süß mit leichten Gewürzen und Kräutern. Insgesamt sehr lecker, wenn man auf sehr süße Getränke steht.
