The English distillery has been producing since 2014. For its double-distilled The Graduate Rye Whisky, only regional rye is used, which is grown only 7 miles away from the distillery. After distillation, it is matured in American oak barrels and then bottled at cask strength at 51.3% vol.

Aroma: Papier,, Stroh, unbestimmte zarte Kräuternote mit einem Hauch Apfelschale
Geschmack: milder Antritt, dezente Note eines Roggenbrotes, noch dezenter Banane, etwas Ingwerschärfe
Abgang: mittel-lang-weilig
Kommentar: insgesamt für einen Rye mit >50Vol% sehr zurückhaltend. Die Komplexität der Herstellerbeschreibung erreicht er nicht ansatzweise. Diese liest sich für mich jetzt eher wie eine Wunschvorstellung und stellt für mich eine Irreführung dar. Happiger Preis.

Aroma: Frische Gewürze mit Anis- und Pfeffernoten florale Anklänge von Minze, Banane und Äpfeln mit kandiertem Ingwerkuchen und gerösteten Mandeln.
Geschmack: Noten von schwarzer Johannisbeere und Salz, erneut Banane gefolgt von cremiger Vanillesoße, dunkler Schokolade, Chili, schwarzem Pfeffer und Lakritze.
Abgang: Cremig, seidig, pfeffrig und minzig, ein Hauch von Espresso und etwas Rauch vor geröstetem Sauerteig.
