Variety Single Malt Whisky
Aroma Notes of lemons and subtle accents of grilled sausage. This is followed by hints of espresso with light liquorice aromas, plus syrup and semi-sweet dark chocolate. Sultanas and warmed dates then meet dark coal smoke.
Taste Lush campfire smoke and toffee play with bitter lemon and mandarin peel. Ginger spice and dark chocolate with star anise follows. Smoke with a classic medicinal Islay flavour is added, leading to cherry and raspberry.
Finish Cocoa nibs and charcoal smoke linger, while lemon oil and raspberry leaf tea coat the taste buds with a pleasant dryness.

Product description
This Port Askaig Cask Single Malt Whisky at cask strength has been matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry butts, Oloroso butts and Bourbon barrels and comes from no more than 60 casks from a distillery on the north coast of Islay. This is also the location of Port Askaig, the village that has been considered the gateway to the island for hundreds of years. Barrels from a selected distillery on Islay are chosen for each of Port Askaig's Single Malts. The respective distillery is kept secret and can vary from bottling to bottling.

    The whisky pours a gorgeous copper hue, and the nose is a symphony of sweet and bitter contrasts. The Sherry influence shines with vinous and biscuity tones, followed by a rich medley of dark fruits – raisins, plums, cherries, figs, dates – and sweet spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Toasted notes, leather, and aged wood add depth, while a wave of bonfire peat smoke rolls in, accompanied by briny, salty nuances.
    On the palate, it’s warm, inviting, even at full strength. The alcohol is beautifully integrated, making it enjoyable neat, though a few drops of water unlock even more fruit and citrus vibrancy.
    The mouthfeel is rich, savoury and full-bodied, bursting with flavours of smoked barbecue, sea brine, oyster sauce, caramel, oak, sweet spices, vanilla, leather, and tobacco.
    The neck pour is an absolute flavour bomb – intense, smoky, and unapologetically bold, with stunning spicy-sweet Sherry notes both on the nose and palate.
    The finish is satisfyingly long
