Scotch Universe GmbH is a small, young, internationally active company based in Germany. The independent bottler has set itself the task of tracking down and hand-selecting special Single Malts and Grain Whiskies. It is not uncommon to find whisky treasures that have been aged in sherry, wine or fortified wine casks. The bottlings in the Universe series are named after celestial phenomena, inviting the independent bottler to sample new galaxies of flavour in the whisky world. The Ganymed IV spent 10 years in first fill ruby port casks before being bottled at 56.5% vol. at cask strength without the addition of colour and without chill-filtering. The Single Malt was produced in an unspecified Islay distillery.
