Aroma Powerful and slightly sweet with oak and moss. Notes of prunes, chocolate and chestnuts.
Taste Intense and complex with herbs and clove. Slightly nutty with tangerine.
Finish Intense and persistent with spice and malt.
Maturation American oak barrels and partial post-maturation in sherry, port and sauternes barrels.

Slyrs Fifty One is a composition of several barrels. In addition to the classic white oak casks, various wine finishes were also used. Before bottling, the malt was diluted to 51% vol. The alcohol strength also gave the Single Malt its name.

The Slyrs Whisky Distillery on Lake Schliersee, named after the historical name of the region, is located in the middle of the picturesque Alpine landscape. The finest Bavarian Single Malt Whisky has been produced here since 1999, initially in the traditional Lantenhammer distillery and since 2007 in the modern Slyrs distillery in Neuhaus.     Kommentar: Mittellanger Abgang, insgesamt OK. Es gibt intensivere Whiskies mit ca. 50% zu einem ähnlichen oder niedrigeren Preis z.B. von Arran oder Glendronach.
