The Tamnavulin distillery was built in 1966 in the rural village of Tomnavoulin, Scotland. Almost three decades later, it was closed again. After extensive renovation, the reopening was celebrated in 2007. This Single Malt was first matured in American white oak casks before it received its post-maturation in former Oloroso sherry casks from Spain.

Kommentar: Im Direktvergleich mit dem "Sherry Cask" gefällt mir dieser "Oloroso" besser. Haben beide ein klasse PLV! -

Kommentar: Der Tempranillo war für mich ein sehr guter Whisky zu dem Preis. Dieser lässt mich Ratlos zurück. Selten vergebe ich unter 3,5 Sterne. Aber hier ist mir zu wenig los, auch wenn ich Tamnavulin mag.
Nachtrag vom 12.04.25: Ich möchte jeden Whisky ehrlich bewerten, deshalb dieser Nachtrag. Nachdem die Flasche eine Weile geöffnet ist, schmeckt er deutlich besser. Mehr Aromen und mehr Süße. Er ist kein schlechter. -

Kommentar: Ein sehr Angenehmer weicher und sanfter Whisky, optimal für Einsteiger, auch Kenner machen nichts falsch mit diesem Dram. Finde ihn klasse.
