Aroma Dark cherries and dried berries, earthy notes in the background. Spicy, slightly dry tannins followed by floral hibiscus.
Taste Rich dark berries like currants, raspberries and strawberries. Slightly acidic and dry with tannins, plus warming spices in the background.
Finish Medium dry, subtly warming and earthy of red fruits and berries.
Maturation Bourbon barrels, finish in Pinot Noir barrels

Product description
This Teeling was created from 80% Grain Whiskey and 20% Malt Whiskey. The 5th edition was first matured for almost six years in bourbon barrels and then for another 36 months in Pinot Noir barrels from the Reichsrat von Buhl winery. The German quality winery is located in the Palatinate and produces a particularly high-quality Pinot Noir.

Aroma: Rotwein ist sehr präsent, süß und fruchtig steigt es in die Nase, nach hinten etwas trocken.

Geschmack: Der Mund füllt sich sofort mit Rotwein, es bleibt fruchtig, danach wechselt der Geschmack zwischen süß und trocken.

Abgang: So geht es in den mittellangen Abgang, welcher auch zwischen süß und trocken hin und her wechselt, rote Johannesbeeren tauchen irgendwo auf.

Kommentar: Nicht viel erwartet von einem Blend, aber dieser Whiskey belehrt mich eines besseren. Für diesen Preis ein Schnäppchen.
