The Pogues is an Irish folk-punk music group that was founded over 30 years ago. Their music inspired John O'Connel, the owner of West Cork, to create this blend, which is a tribute to the song of the same name from one of the band's albums. The blend consists of whiskeys distilled in Ireland and England and matured in bourbon casks.

As the name suggests, West Cork Distillers is located in the west of County Cork in Ireland. The independent craft distillery was founded in 2003 by three childhood friends: John O'Connell and cousins Ger and Denis McCarthy. What began as a small experiment in a back room developed into one of the largest Irish-owned distilleries in the country. Today, the distillery employs more than 140 people, many of them from the region, and produces Irish Whiskey, Gin and Vodka for a global audience. read more

Man kann ihn trinken. Reiht sich aber hinter anderen Vertretern seiner Zunft ein. Geschmacklich eher zurückhaltend, tw. etwas "sprittig". Ein Plus, die Flasche fällt ins Auge.
