Nahe der Stadt Inverness liegt die Brennerei Tomatin. Sie war eine Zeit lang die größte Brennerei in Schottland und produzierte jährlich 12 Millionen Liter Alkohol, der meiste Malt Whisky ging dabei in großen Mengen an andere Unternehmen und Blends. Als 1985 die Whisky-Blase platzte änderte sich der Schwerpunkt von Tomatin, es wird nun mehr Wert auf Qualität als auf Quantität gelegt und die Single Malts von Tomatin sind hochgeschätzt. read more

    Geschmack: Sehr rund und man merkt ihm die Fassstärke nicht an. Schöner Körper ohne aufdringlich zu sein.

    Abgang: Komplex und anhaltend.

    Kommentar: Ich dachte nach Jahren wo ich Einzelfässer in Fassstärke als vornehmliches Profil hatte mich könnte nichts mehr überraschen. DANN kam Tomatin mit dieser Abfüllung. Jedes Mal aufs Neue dachte ich war vielleicht letztes Mal ne Einbildung aber der CS hat jedes Mal aus Neue voll überzeugt. Für mich eine der besten CS Abfüllungen die ich jeh hatte - ein perfektes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!
