For the Tomintoul Small Batch Tawny Port Cask Finish, selected Tomintoul whiskies matured in ex-bourbon casks were blended together and then given a finish in hand-selected Tawny Port wine casks from Portugal.
The Tomintoul distillery is located in the famous Livet River valley. Tomintoul has special energy-saving heat exchangers. After cooling the alcohol vapours, the captured heat is returned to the mash.

Aroma: Tolle Farbe (ja ich weiss leider gefärbt), rote Früchte (Erdbeeren und Himbeeren), Nougat, Likör, Honig und Traubenmost.
Geschmack: Leicht, nussig und weinartig (wenig überraschend): Beerige Noten setzen sich fort, mit Vanilleeiscreme mit Stücken von Nougat/Krokant und Kaffeepulver.
Abgang: Leicht bis mittel: Fruchtig und süßlich. Feine, trockene Schoko- und Beerennoten ziehen sich hin.
Kommentar: "Tomintoul: The Gentle Dram" macht seinem Namen alle Ehre. Masterblender Robert Fleming begeistert mit preislich guten, nicht herrausragenden, Abfüllungen unsere Gaumen. Fehlende Altersangabe verzeiht man locker. Preis/Leistung ohngleichen.

Kommentar: Ein sehr angenehm fruchtiger und aromatischer Whisky, Farbe und Geschmack eines Erdbeerlikörs, im mittellangen Abgang leicht bitter einer Schokolade. Ein etwas anderer Whisky.
