Tullamore D.E.W. Special Reserve is a blend of the three types of Irish whiskey: Pot Still, Malt and Grain Whiskey. The whiskey is matured in ex-Bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, giving it a wonderfully complex flavour.

The Distillery: Tullamore
The Tullamore distillery was founded in the year 1829 in the eponymous city of the Offaly earldom in the ccenter of Ireland. The name of the Whiskey is a combination of the place and the initials of Daniel E. Williams, who was the distillery manager at the time. Over the years, the distillery was closed for 60 years. Until it was reopened in 2014, the Tullamore Whiskey was distilled in the Midleton distillery in the earldom of Cork.

Kommentar: Aktueller Durchschnitt von 3,0 finde ich fast bissle hart. Im Vergleich zu anderen Blended Whisky vollkommen ok mit überraschender Würzigkeit, v.a. für nen Irischen Blend. Preis/ Leistung ist aber tatsächlich im Vergleich zu anderen Blended Whisky nicht ganz so gut, da tatsächlich eher 2,5 - 3,0 ;-)
