Product description
The Maritime Release series from the Irish distillery West Cork is a special edition comprising four bottlings. The 0.7 litre bottles are reminiscent of floating balls, which were once used as buoyancy for fishing nets. The triple-distilled Irish Single Malts are each given a different finish after initial maturation in bourbon barrels and are then bottled at 46% vol. at drinking strength without chill-filtering or colouring.

Die West Cork Distillers liegen – wie der Name vermuten lässt – im Westen der Grafschaft Cork in Irland. Gegründet wurde die unabhängige Craft-Brennerei im Jahr 2003 von drei Jugendfreunden: John O’Connell sowie den Cousins Ger und Denis McCarthy. Was als kleines Experiment in einem Hinterzimmer begann, entwickelte sich zu einer der größten, in irischem Besitz befindlichen Brennereien des Landes. Heute beschäftigt die Destillerie mehr als 140 Mitarbeitende, viele davon aus der Region, und produziert irischen Whiskey, Gin und Wodka für ein weltweites Publikum. read more

    Kommentar: Die Flasche macht schon was her :-) Der Geschmack hält leider nicht, was die Nase Verspricht... Nase: Fruchtig, Süß, ein Hauch von Sherry. Geschmack: Scharf, Metallig, Frisch und etwas Frucht. Nachklang: Kurz mit Schärfe und einem Hauch von Sherry... Ich würde die ganze Flasche, wenn, dann nur wegen der Optik in mein Regal stellen :-)
