The Distillery: Wolfburn

Wolfburn ist eine der nördlichsten Brennereien auf dem schottischen Festland. Sie wurde ursprünglich bereits im Jahr 1821 erbaut, musste allerdings im Laufe des 19. Jahrhunderts wieder schließen und heute sind nur noch Ruinen des alten Gebäudes übrig. 2011 wurde eine neue Brennerei unweit der Ruinen erbaut und mittlerweile ist die Produktionsmenge wieder auf demselben Level wie einst im 19. Jahrhundert. Auf dem Logo findet sich ein Wolf, dessen verwandtes Fabelwesen, der sogenannte ‘Seewolf‘, allen, die ihn zu Gesicht bekommen, Glück bringen soll. Im 16. Jahrhundert, als die Zeichnung für das Wolfburn Logo entstand, gab es in der Gegend jede Menge Wölfe. read more
