Variety Single Malt Whisky
Aroma Initially sweet with maritime notes, then dry hints of citrus freshness and a hint of cereal predominate. A subtle sherry sweetness shines through.
Taste Pleasantly sticky-sweet flavours in the foreground, dates and sultanas take over, followed by cinnamon and honey in the background. Deep and complex with accents of Christmas cake.
Finish Gentle, sweet facets gradually disappear, leaving a lingering aftertaste of demerara sugar and caramel at the end.

Product description
This year's X-mas edition from the Highland distillery Wolfburn is called Merry Christmas and a happy New Year! The festive Single Malt matured for 10 years in three hand-picked Oloroso sherry casks filled in 2014. The holiday whisky was bottled at 46% higher drinking strength, in a natural colour, without chill-filtration and in a 0.7 litre bottle for even more enjoyment at Christmas and on New Year's Eve.

The Distillery: Wolfburn

Wolfburn
Wolfburn is the northernmost distillery on the Scottish mainland. It was originally built in 1821 but had to close again in the course of the 19th century and today only ruins of the old complex remain. In 2011, a new distillery was built not far from the ruins and in the meantime the production volume has returned to the same level as in the 19th century. The logo features a wolf, whose related mythical creature, the so-called 'sea wolf', is said to bring good luck to all those who set eyes on it. In the 16th century, when the drawing for the Wolfburn logo was made, there were plenty of wolves in the area. read more
