Ardnahoe Infinite Loch is the second edition of a new Islay whisky on the market. Distillery manager Fraser Hughes produces the Single Malt using traditional methods. Peaty Islay water is taken from Loch Ardnahoe and two traditional worm tubs (the only ones on Islay) are used. These were chosen to give the malt additional depth of flavour and complexity. The slow distillation is carried out on two copper Pot Still stills with exceptionally long lyne arms, which prevents the mash from burning during distillation. The bottling is matured in ex-Bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The Islay whisky is then bottled at 50% vol, non-chill-filtered and without colour. With Ardnahoe, the Laing family fulfils a long-held wish to have their own distillery.

Geschmack: frisch, helle Früchte und Rauch; insgesamt ein cremiger Eindruck; der Alkohol ist sehr schön eingebunden und die immerhin 50% fallen nicht auf. Zwei, drei Tropfen Wasser drängen den Rauch nach hinten, lassen eine verstärkte Fruchtigkeit und Süße nach vorne treten.
Abgang: lang, fruchtig und rauchig
Kommentar: Der Whisky ist deutlich differenzierter und bietet mehr zum Entdecken als der erste veröffentlichte Jahrgang. Vergessen darf man nicht, dass er noch jung ist. Er befeuert die Erwartungen auf 10, 12 und mehr Jahre Lagerung.
