According to French AOC (Appellation d'Origine Controlee) regulations, a Rhum VSOP must have been matured for at least four years. This bottling consists of rhum that has been aged for at least seven years.
The Habitation Depaz looks back on 400 years of experience in rum production. The sugar cane is grown and processed exclusively on their own fields on the fertile soil at the foot of the Vukan Pelée. The freshly pressed sugar cane juice is distilled on traditional Coffey stills, also called Creole Clumn stills. In order to receive the "controlled designation of origin" (AOC) seal, the rum must meet very high quality standards.

    Kommentar: Dieser Rum gefällt mir richtig gut. Er ist nicht so extrem Süß wie andere Rums und deutlich komplexer.

    Gerade für Whisky-Liebhaber dürfte das ein interessanter Rum sein.
