The Glen Moray Pedro Ximénez Cask Finish from Murray McDavid's Cask Partnership Series combines the fruity, smooth character of a classic Speyside Single Malt with the intense sweetness of noble PX sherry cask maturation. Distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2026, the whisky was finished in particularly aromatic Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from the traditional Bodega Bodegas Ximénez-Spínola, resulting in an exceptionally dense, sweet and fruity flavour. With this cask partnership, the independent bottlers at Murray McDavid specifically focus on cask maturation with a strong character, which refines and expands the character of the distillery. Taste: Glen Moray impresses with notes of hazelnut, red berries and juicy dates, accompanied by dark toffee, sultanas, fine oak spice and a lush, syrupy sherry sweetness that gives the whisky depth and elegance.

The building in which Glen Moray is housed started out as the West Brewery, founded in 1828. In 1897, its owners, Robert Thorne & Sons, converted the site into a two-still Whisky distillery.

Er riecht am Anfang sehr süß was so in die Richtung von dunklen Früchten geht, definitiv gepaart mit etwas geröstetem. Am Ende wie Kaffeebohnen oder Nüsse die dunkel geröstet werden.
Geschmack: 
Es ist viel vom Sherryfass auf der Zunge mit einer hervorragenden Süße nach hellem Karamell, es riecht nach dunklem Karamell aber schmeckt sehr leicht und Süß. Dann kommt eine Fruchtnote, ob es jetzt wie angegeben Dattel oder Rote Beere ist kann ich nicht mit Sicherheit sagen, vielleicht auch Traube? Auf jeden Fall angenehm. Aber sie bleibt nicht lange denn dann kommt Eiche und Schokolade.
Abgang:
Der Abgang ist dominiert von weicher Eiche und dunkler Schokolade was in einer Restsüße am Gaumen Endet.

Super Whisky mit fantastischem Profil für diesen Preis ~45€ 2Q 2026. Aber unbedingt verdünnen auf 48-50,5% -

Geschmack: süß, Weinnoten, dunkle Beeren, deutlich Eiche – aber nicht bitter.
Abgang:
Kommentar: Ich habe schrittweise verdünnt – bei 50% gefällt er mir am besten.
