The Glengoyne 24 Year Old White Oak Single Malt has a sweet flavour profile, which is due to the long maturation in first fill Bourbon and Virgin American Oak. The Glengoyne distillery, which has been located on the border between the Highlands and the Lowlands since 1833, boasts the slowest distillation process in Scotland. This results in exceptionally smooth and complex whiskies. Due to its unique location, Glengoyne Distillery is able to produce Highland whisky that is both flavoursome and sustainably produced. Glengoyne is the only distillery that treats and reuses its distillery waste through a specially created biotope and a state-of-the-art filter system. The waste, which cannot be reused after production, is utilised as an energy source by 354 households after processing. The packaging consists of 86& recycled materials.

Herstellerbeschreibungle 21.06.2024Aroma: Vanille, getoasteter Eiche, Zitronenquark, Honig, Pflaumenmarmelade, getrockneter Kokosnuss und gewürztem Apfelgebäck.
Geschmack: Volle Vanille, Zitrone, Kokosnuss, Honigwaben, Eiche, Pflaume und Schokolade. Sanftes Eichenholz mit Johannisbeere, Schokolade und Vanille übernehmen.
Abgang: Lang mit kandierten Äpfeln, zarten Zitrusfrüchten und anhaltender Eiche.
Er klang recht interessant.
Heute zeigt sich, was er kann…
Sehr kräftig riecht er,
der braucht noch etwas Geduld…
Was soll ich sagen? Irgendwie ist der schwer zu fassen.
Auf der einen Seite recht floral, fast blumig,
dann aber etwas erdig, fast dreckig,
die Holznoten schwer auszumachen,
eher würzig und reif.
Dann ein erster Schluck.
Wieder kräftig, aber sogleich aromatisch.
Die Fassnoten kommen nun gut und schön zur Geltung,
wirken satt und durchdringend.
Eine ganz leichte Würze,
fast glaube ich, die weiße Eiche zu schmecken.
Ich weiß nicht, was ich sagen soll.
Liegt es daran, dass ich von Glengoyne anderes gewöhnt bin?
Oder ist es ein Quäntchen Enttäuschung über den Preis?
Natürlich kann man den trinken, ohne Zweifel,
aber müsste ich jetzt noch eine Flasche haben? …
