This Kilchoman whisky was matured for at least 13 years in Oloroso sherry butts before being bottled exclusively for the German market at 54.5% vol. at natural cask strength, without the addition of colour and without chill-filtering. Fruity notes and sweet accents and WITHOUT the typical maritime peat smoke! The limited Kilchoman Unpeated Small Batch impressively demonstrates what it has to offer as a new addition to the farm distillery's 100% Islay series. Kilchoman remains the only producer of Islay Single Malt that produces its whisky creations entirely on site, from barley growing to bottling.

La distillerie: Kilchoman
After more than 125 years, the Kilchoman farm distillery is the first new distillery to be built on the island of Islay. At the distillery, which was founded in 2005 and produces a 100 per cent Islay Single Malt, all production steps are carried out on site, from the cultivation of the barley to the filling of the bottles.

Herstellerbeschreibungle 22.10.2025Aroma: Dunkle Schokonoten mit Karamellsüße und einem Mix aus Gewürzen und Trockenfrüchten.
Geschmack: Samtig-süßlich mit würzigen Anklängen von Seegras, Lakritz und Toffee, die sich mit Rosinen und dunklen Früchten verbinden.
Abgang: Sehr lang und angenehm trocken, dazu Schokolade mit reichhaltigen Zitrusnoten, dann Nussaromen treffen auf gesalzenes Karamell.

Kommentar: Für diejenigen die rauchige Whiskys nicht mögen ist dieser hier nicht zu empfehlen. Nennt sich zwar unpeated, ist aber doch ziemlich rauchig. Auf der Rückseite der Verpackung wird darauf hingewiesen, aber das sieht man leider nicht. Schade ...
