The cask maturation for this Lindores Exclusive Cask bottling was selected and orchestrated by Distillery Manager Gary Haggart. The Single Malt first matured in bourbon casks and then received a 14-month finish in a cream sherry cask. Such casks are rarely used for the maturation and post-maturation of whisky. Cream sherry is a sweet, full-bodied fortified wine from Spain that is produced by blending dry Oloroso sherry with sweet wines - usually Pedro Ximénez. It is characterised by its dark, mahogany-coloured hue, a soft, velvety structure and pronounced aromas of caramel, nuts and sultanas. Bottled exclusively for the German market without chill-filtering and without the addition of artificial colouring, this Lowlands malt combines sweet toffee and caramel flavours with fruit and a great crescendo of chilli and pepper, which provides lasting warmth. The Lindores Abbey distillery is based in the Scottish Lowlands and is located in a former abbey that has been producing high-quality premium spirits there since 2017.
