This Störtebeker whisky, matured for over seven years, was aged in an exciting combination of American white oak and ex-Nordik Porter beer casks. It was then finished with an 11-year-old Single Malt from a sherry cask. The German whisky product thus became a soft, malty and spicy Single Malt Whisky with subtle notes of vanilla, caramel and fruity yeast cake. There is also a sweet sherry note that rounds everything off harmoniously. The limited release is filled at 43% vol. in the special 0.5 litre glass bottles with a small handle and is probably the only Single Malt Whisky in the world that is partly matured in ex-Nordik Porter beer barrels from Störtebeker's own craft beer brewery. The Störtebeker distillery is an artisan whisky distillery located in the South East Rügen Biosphere Reserve. Whiskies have been produced in a former hotel dating back to 1908 since the mid-2000s. The first of these was distilled in 2009. The location on the popular island of Rügen quickly made the whisky famous and Störtebeker has been a partner since 2020, investing in the site and trialling new whisky creations. Innovation and craftsmanship are just as important to the distillery as research and development, which is where the partnerships with the ZELT Institute and Neubrandenburg University of Applied Sciences in the field of food technology come from.

Geschmack: Rund und harmonisch, mit einer warmen malzbetonten Würze. Süße Akzente von Vanille und Karamell verbinden sich mit intensiv fruchtigen Sherrynoten. Trockenfrüchte wie Zwetschke und Rosine treten hervor, ergänzt durch feine Nussaromen und rote Beeren.
Abgang: Lang und geschmeidig mit roten Beeren und eine zarte, elegante Süße, bevor sanfte Karamell- und leichte Gewürznoten das Finale einleiten.
