This Tamnavulin was matured for 10 years, 5 of which were spent in former Chianti wine barrels. Tamnavulin was built in 1966 in the rural village of Tomnavoulin (Scotland). It was closed almost three decades later. After extensive renovation, the reopening was celebrated in 2007. It was bottled at 46% vol. without chill-filtering and without the addition of colour, as the independent bottler Living Souls focuses on natural Single Malts, intensive full cask maturation or, as with this Tamnavulin, refinement in rare casks. Behind the independent bottler from Scotland is a young team of three from Glasgow with great expertise and experience and excellent connections. Calum Leslie - former Head of Innovation at the Loch Lomond Group -, Jamie Williamson - founder of the UK wholesaler Kilninian Spirits and worked for many years at Douglas Laing - and John Torrance - 20 years of experience in the industry at Diageo and Tullibardine, among others - are part of the team. Fans and lovers of Tamnavulin's Speyside whisky can look forward to warming and fruity oak notes complemented by floral accents in this small batch bottling.

La distillerie: Tamnavulin
Tamnavulin is one of the younger Scottish distilleries and only built in 1966. It was founded to produce a great quantity of Whisky for Blends and this is still its main job. There are only a few Single Malts released as official bottlings from Tamnavulin, the “mill on the hill”, but the Speyside distillery on the banks of the river Livet is worth to have a closer look on it.

Danielle 18.04.2026Kommentar: Tamnavulin und Weinfass passt einfach hervorragend zusammen; dazu noch 10 Jahre Alter. Früchte, rote Beeren, Süße, leichte Würze aus dem Holz, unglaublich angenehmes Mundgefühl.

Geschmack: Es entfalten sich Noten von Erdbeere und Kirsche, untermalt von roten Beeren, sanfter Eiche und einem zarten Hauch von Rosenblüten.
Abgang: Elegant und anhaltend, in jedem Schluck schwingt der Charme der zeitlosen toskanischen Landschaft mit.
