The aroma of this Blair Athol is slightly sweet and shows a hint of smoke. Both are also more pronounced in the Taste. In the long finish, the sweetness is only subtly perceptible.
Under the Flora & Fauna Series, the owner Diageo bottles selected casks from a few distilleries, each individually as a Single Malt. The Flora & Fauna series is a true enrichment of the whisky scene and is regarded by collectors as an original bottling if there are no other original bottlings.

    Grundsätzlich bin ich bei Diageo-Produkten meist skeptisch und erwarte nicht allzu viel, vor allem wenn sie das vollständige „Sterilisierungsprogramm“ (filtriert, gefärbt, niedriger ABV) durchlaufen haben. In diesem Fall wurde ich jedoch positiv überrascht. Ein zart-komplexer Whisky mit einem klaren Fokus auf fruchtig-süße Nuancen, was ihn gefährlich süffig macht. Die angenehme Würze, sanfte Eichennoten und eine dezente Rauchigkeit runden das Ganze ab.
