Faro Feingeist is a German whisky made from regional organic barley in a unique distillery facility. Peat sods from northern Germany are used for kilning the malt. Distillation takes place on a 1000 litre copper still, which is heated with wood fire. The liquid is then matured for at least 4 years in specially made barrique-sized barrels (about 225 litres) made of oak from Schleswig-Holstein. The foundation of the Basthorst estate near Hamburg dates back to 1278. One of the more than 30 buildings on the estate is also home to the Feingeisterei distillery. Martina and Fabian Rohrwasser have been producing their certified organic fine spirits there since 2013. They are subject to strict quality standards and are made from 100% handmade and 100% natural components.
