Flor de Caña Rum comes from Nicaragua and is the only rum brand in the world that can call itself 'slow aged'. With this certification, the US government agency ensures that it is a natural and not accelerated maturation process in oak barrels. The rum is produced directly at the San Antonio sugar factory at the foot of an active volcano, which belongs to the "Compañía Licorera de Nicaragua" founded in 1890. Although the Flor de Caña 7 Gran Reserva is the youngest in the assortment of the Central American production facility, it has regularly won prizes at fairs and competitions since 2001. It was matured in small 180-litre white oak barrels and developed a full Taste with complex aromas.

The Italian Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa founded the Flor de Caña Rum distillery in 1890 at the foot of the San Cristobál volcano in Nicaragua. The distillery is still family-owned and is now run by the fifth generation.

Sehr zugänglich, verträgt definitiv ein bisschen Zeit im Glas vor dem Trinken (so wie der 12jähriges). Genau so schön in der Toffee-Note, aber etwas und frischer und grasiger im Vergleich zu der älteren Ausführung.
